What is EMDR?

EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a psychotherapy technique that can help individuals overcome traumatic experiences and other mental health challenges. EMDR is an evidence-based treatment that has been found to be effective for a variety of conditions, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and phobias. During an EMDR session, the therapist guides the client to recall distressing memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping. This process helps to reprocess the traumatic memory, reducing its emotional intensity and allowing the client to move forward in their healing journey. If you're struggling with the effects of trauma or other mental health challenges, EMDR may be a helpful tool to consider as part of your therapy journey.

We utilize techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Theory, Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Brainspotting.
